How does it work?

If you want to excavate, move, use or temporarily store soil, building materials and/or dredged material within the municipality, please report this 1 week before the work via DSO.

Excavation work

  • Excavation work of more than 25 m3 must be reported via the Environment Desk.
  • Are you going to excavate less than 25 m3 of soil and is it highly contaminated? Then the Dowry Rule applies. Before the excavation work, you must inform us via the national counter (DSO) (information obligation 1 week prior to the start of the activity). If in doubt, please contact us. This is not necessary for temporary removal or emergency repairs to cables and pipes.

When not to submit a report?

  • The use of a maximum of 25m3 of soil or dredged material as a private individual (by a natural person).
  • If the soil or dredging spoil is used from the same farm on the same plot.
  • Applying a maximum of 50 m3 of soil or dredging sludge that meets the background value (concerns clean soil, applicable for multiple functions. (environmental declaration of soil quality must be present).
