Do you need help?

Go to your local buurt- of dorpskamer (community centre). Or go to the Meedenkpunt (help centre) at the City Hall.

You do not need an appointment to go to the Meedenkpunt. You can ask questions about matters such as an unclear letter you received from the local authority, an allowance or information about your benefits.

  • Tuesday from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
  • Wednesday from 13 am to 5.00 pm.
  • Thursday from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
  • Friday from 13.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The Meedenkpunt is a test. We will see in the near future whether residents want this.

Making an appointment for citizen affairs

The citizen affairs (burgerzaken) department works by appointment. There are also times when you can walk in without an appointment. Go to the topic on this website for which you want to visit. On that page, you can make an appointment online and view the days and times when you can visit the Town Hall without an appointment.

Town Hall opening hours

The Town Hall is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm and on Thursday from 8.30 am to 7.30 pm. The call centre can be reached by telephone from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm.

Town Hall closed on

  • Monday April 1 (Easter Monday).
  • Thursday 9 May and Friday 10 May (Ascension Day).
  • Monday May 20 (Whit Monday).
  • The Civil Affairs department will be closed all day on Friday, 7 June for the central voting count.
  • Wednesday December 25 and Thursday December 26 (Christmas).
  • Wednesday January 1 (New Year’s Day).

City Hall

The City Hall is open from Monday to Friday from 08.30 am to 6 pm and Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm.

Inspecting a permit or construction file

You can come to the Town Hall to view a permit or construction file. Let us know what you want to view beforehand. You can pass this on by completing the form on the page Viewing a permit or construction file. You can view applications from 2024 onwards via Overheid.nl.

Disabled access

The Town Hall is easily accessible for the disabled from the Oldehoofsterkerkhof side. The entrance on the Nieuwestad side can only be accessed by stairs.
