Download the application form disadvantage compensation and fill in. Send the form to the City of Leeuwarden. You can also hand it in at the Town Hall.
When to apply?
You can apply for disadvantage compensation if, for example:
- Your spatial situation has changed due to a decision based on the Environment Act.
- One road is closed, for an extra long period of time.
- An underground car park is being built.
Within which time period
You must submit your application within five years of the decision or work that may cause damage.
After the application, it may take a year before you receive a reply.
Settlement with previously received compensation
Have you previously received compensation for the disadvantage in any other way, for example through a sale, compulsory purchase or landlord’s contribution? Then you cannot also receive compensation from the municipality. In the case of partial compensation, the municipality will then settle these amounts in the calculation of your disadvantage compensation.
The old rules apply for decisions and works prior to 1 January 2024. The application will be automatically assessed according to these rules and you will be notified accordingly.
