Storm
In the event of strong winds and a storm, branches may fall from trees and roof tiles from houses. This can create hazardous situations. We do our utmost to keep you as safe as possible.
What can you do yourself
- If you notice a branch lying on the cycling path, remove it if doing so safely is an option. Always notify the local authority; the tree may have other loose branches.
- Put away loose items around your house.
- Close doors and windows.
- Do not go out onto the road unless necessary.
What to do in the event of storm damage
- If you are in immediate danger, call 112. For example, if there is a risk of collapse.
- If the situation is not urgent, but you do require the fire brigade’s services, call 0900-0904. For example, for loose roofing, loose facade panels or a tree that might fall on a public road.
- No hazards, but damage in the public space: notify us online (opens in new tab) or contact us. For example, if a tree has fallen on the roadside. If it concerns damage to your own trees or your own land, this falls under your own responsibility.
