Sometimes you need a soil test. For example, when applying for an environmental permit, when buying or selling a piece of land, in the case of asbestos or if the land is contaminated.

If you want to carry out activities on or in the soil, you will have to comply with the rules in the Environmental Act. Many activities fall under environmentally harmful activities, such as remediation of the soil. In addition, there are also rules when digging and applying soil. The rules for excavating or covering contaminated soil are contained in the Environmental Act. Known contaminated locations fall under transitional law in a number of situations. The Soil Protection Act continues to apply here.

Heavily contaminated locations with ongoing soil remediation are also handled using existing procedures under the Soil Management Act. If this is the case, please send the report to the City of Leeuwarden. <h3>Report remediation at transitional legal location</h3> You do this via a <a href="https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/documenten/formulieren/2011/07/13/meldingsformulier-voor-bus-saneringen">BUS registration</a>. You make this BUS registration yourself or the environmental consultancy firm. <h3>Remediation plan</h3> In special situations you must submit a remediation plan to the municipality. This plan must have been made by an environmental consulting firm.
