Have you suffered damage and do you think it is the municipality’s fault? For example, due to poor maintenance of a road or public greenery. Or had a collision with one of the local authority’s vehicles? You can hold the local authority liable for the consequences and ask for compensation for damages.

Download and complete the Liability claim in connection with damage suffered application form. Send the form to the City of Leeuwarden. You can also hand it in at the Town Hall.
Damage caused by a road sweeping vehicle
For example, did you get a flat tyre due to a steel wire from the road sweeping vehicle’s brush? Let Omrin know. Road sweeping vehicles are not owned by the local authority.
Where to get reimbursement
The losses will be compensated if they have indeed been caused by the local authority’s acts or omissions. The local authority or its insurer will assess your application.
When will I receive notification of my application?
Within 8 weeks.
Costs incurred due to a sewer clearance company
Was the blockage caused by a broken or collapsed sewer connection on municipal land? Request a refund for the unblocking company’s costs using the Liability claim in connection with damage suffered application form. You will need to attach the video of the sewer clearance company.
