Map of the low traffic city centre

The low traffic city centre map shows the exact area.

Located within the low traffic area

You are a business, institution or resident located in the low traffic area. An entry permit allows you to enter and exit the low traffic area 24 hours a day.

Even if you rent or borrow a car or other motor vehicle, you will need an entry exemption for that vehicle.

Located outside the low traffic area

You are not located in the low traffic city centre, but you need to be there.

Loading and unloading

Loading and unloading with a motorised vehicle in the low traffic area is permitted without an entry permit on Monday to Saturday from 07:30 am to noon. Outside these times, you may only enter the area with an entry exemption. You are not allowed to park in the area. Not even with an entry exemption.
Is loading and unloading within window times impossible? If so, you can apply for an entry exemption. For this, you pay per license plate.

Carers, people with disabled parking cards and taxis

Do you not yet have an entry exemption yet? In that case, you can apply for one.

Change or cancel entry exemption

An entry exemption is valid for 1 license plate. Has your car been sold, or are you temporarily driving a loan car? Cancel or update your entry exemption.

Send an e-mail to parkeren@leeuwarden.nl. You can also write a letter or drop by the Town Hall.
