Organising a rally or demonstration
You may organise a demonstration, event or rally that centres on the message in a public space. That is a constitutional right. Report this to the local authority at least 48 hours in advance: this can be done online.
Are you unwilling or unable to apply online?
Then you can notify us in 2 ways.
- Send an email to vergunningen@leeuwarden.nl.
- Write a letter. Send it to the City of Leeuwarden. You can also take it to the Town Hall.
What should the email or letter contain?
To hold a rally, demonstration, or event, we need some information from you. This can be found in the document “Template for a rally, demonstration or event”.
Why do I need to apply on time?
We will talk to you and any emergency services about how to make the demonstration run as smoothly and calmly as possible.
