Digital Traders Register (DOR) and Digital Traders Window (DOL)
Do you often buy and then resell second-hand items? If you do this as a trader and not just as a hobby, you must register your purchases in the Digital Traders Register (DOR). You must also register with the local authority via the Digital Traders Window (DOL). This is a statutory obligation.
Registering goods in the DOR
If you purchase used goods with the intention of reselling them, you must register your purchases in the Digital Traders Register (DOR). The DOR is linked to the police database of stolen goods. This allows the police to check whether any objects are stolen. By keeping an effective administration, you can help combat handling of stolen goods.
Registering with the DOL
Since 1 January 2025, traders have been obligated to register with the local authority via the Digital Traders Window (DOL). Through this registration, activities are officially registered and data are recorded accurately.
Creating a DOL account
- Go to the Digital Traders Window (opens in new tab) website.
- Log in using your DOR account.
- If you do not have a DOR account, create a new account in the DOL (this will automatically create a DOR account).
- Follow the steps to complete your registration.
