Digital Traders Register (DOR) and Digital Traders Window (DOL)
Do you often buy and resell second-hand items? If this amounts to more than just a hobby, you must keep track of your purchases in the Digital Traders Register (Digitaal Opkopers Register, DOR). You must also register as a trader with the local authority. You can do this via the Digital Traders Window (Digitaal Opkopers Loket, DOL). Both keeping track of your purchases and registering with the local authority are required by law.
Registering goods in the DOR
Traders who buy used goods and odd lots, such as electronics, furniture or jewellery, are legally obligated to register their purchases in the Digital Traders Register (DOR). The DOR is connected to a police database of stolen goods. When you register a purchase, the police can check whether it concerns a stolen item or product. By keeping a tidy and complete administration, you help combat handling of stolen goods.
Registering with the DOL
Since 1 January 2025, traders have been obligated to register with the local authority via the Digital Traders Window (DOL). Through this registration, activities are officially registered and data are recorded accurately.
Creating a DOL account
- Go to the Digital Traders Window (opens in new tab) website.
- Log in using your DOR account.
- If you do not have a DOR account, create a new account in the DOL. (A DOR account will then be created automatically.)
- Follow the steps to complete your registration.
