Applying for social benefit
Do you no longer have an income, or has it decreased? And as a result, do you have too little money to live on? You might be eligible for a (supplementary) social benefit. Find out quickly if you qualify by answering a few short questions.

Who determines the amount of the benefit?
For the amount of the benefit, we consider:
- your domestic situation;
- other income;
- a contribution from parents or a former partner.

What rules apply when you receive a social assistance benefit
You must take part in jobseeker activities. If you do not actively participate, we may reduce your social assistance benefit.
If anything changes in your living situation or your income, you should let us know. You will find more information on the page ‘Report changes to social security benefits’ (in Dutch only).
