Leeuwarden is becoming increasingly digital
Switching to digital mail via the message box
In the coming year, the City of Leeuwarden will increasingly send mail digitally. You can receive this mail in MijnOverheid’s message box. This is a personal and secure online inbox where you can easily retrieve messages from the local authority. The local authority is increasingly sending mail by digital means. You can indicate how you would prefer to receive this mail: digitally in the message box or by paper in the mail. You can change this preference in the message box settings. This way, the local authority will contact you in a way that suits you.
Digital signature
Almost none of the letters from the City of Leeuwarden have a handwritten signature anymore. This is because you can rely on it that the letters really come from the local authority. In some cases, the local authority is still required by law to place a signature. At the bottom of the letter, it will read: ‘You will not find a signature underneath this letter.’ That way, you will still be able to tell that it concerns an official letter, even without a signature.
Future
The City of Leeuwarden will soon expand its digital services. That means you will be able to arrange even more matters and contact the local authority digitally. Do you have any questions? Contact the City of Leeuwarden. We’ll be pleased to help you.
