Registering the names of political parties
Political parties that are not registered with the local, provincial or national authorities can register a name with the central election office. The registered name enables a party to take part in elections. If a party does not register a name, it can contest the elections without a name. In that case, the party competes with a list number only.

This is possible throughout the year. It is recommended to make an appointment with the Elections Department first.

You will need to pay a deposit for the registration. The deposit is €225 for Provincial Council elections and €112.50 for municipal elections.
