What we expect from you?

You:

  • are available on 18 March;
  • were born on or before 18 March 2008;
  • are stress-resistant and presentable;
  • are helpful;
  • can count and calculate well;
  • are willing to follow a digital training course and complete it with a pass mark;
  • can read, write and speak Dutch;
  • work according to the rules;
  • treat everyone equally;
  • have experience with working digitally. You will have access to all digital instructions.

What requirements must a counter meet?

Counters follow the chairperson’s explanation and instructions. They must be available on 18 March from 8.45 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at midnight, but this could be earlier or later.

What requirements must a polling station member meet?

Polling station members follow the chairperson’s explanation and instructions. They must be available on 18 March from

  •  7:00 am to 11:30 am and from 6:30 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at midnight, but this could be earlier or later.

Or from

  • 11:30 am to 6:30 pm and from 8:45 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at midnight, but this could be earlier or later.

What requirements must a chairperson meet?

  • You must have a car and a smartphone (mobile phone with internet) at your disposal during the elections.
  • You can lead, handle numbers well and make decisions.

In a short meeting you will receive an explanation about the elections.

Chairperson 1

  • Must be available on 18 March from 06.00 am to 11.30 am and from 6.30 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at midnight, but this could be earlier or later.
  • Receives training on the counting method and explains this to the other polling station members.
  • Is the counting leader when counting the votes.
  • Is responsible for completing the official report.
  • Collects materials from 6 am at the town hall.
  • Returns all materials in the evening together with chairperson 2 and two polling station members.

Chairperson 2

  • Must be available on 18 March from 11.30 am to 6.30 pm and from 8.45 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at midnight, but this could be earlier or later.
  • Takes over the duties of the chairperson in the absence of the chairperson.
  • Reads all materials on the counting method.
  • Returns all materials in the evening together with chairperson 1 and two polling station members.

If you are placed, you will receive the entire fee. In that case, the reserve allowance is no longer paid. We provide a packed lunch.

Send an email to stembureauleden@leeuwarden.nl. It may be that there are already sufficient polling station chairpersons, polling station members and counters at the time you apply. In that case, we will save your application. We will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.
