Register polling station chairmen, polling station members and counters
The elections for the European Parliament are on June 6. Polling station chairmen, polling station members and counters are still needed for the 81 polling stations. Something for you? Meet fellow townspeople or villagers, help promote democracy, learn about the elections, get good compensation and have a fun day!
What we expect from you?
- You were born on or before June 6, 2006;
- stress-resistant and you look neat and well-groomed;
- helpful;
- can count and calculate well;
- willing to follow a digital training course and complete it with a passing grade;
- good at reading, writing and speaking Dutch;
- works according to the rules
- treats everyone equally and has experience with working digitally.
What requirements must a counter meet?
As a counter you will follow the chairman’s explanation and instructions and you will be available on June 6 from 8:45 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at 12:00 am, but can be later.
What requirements must a polling station member meet?
As a polling station member, you follow the chairman’s explanation and instructions and are available on June 6 from:
- 7:00 am to 11:30 am and from 6:30 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at 12:00 am, but can be later.
Or from:
- 11:30 am to 6:30 pm and from 8:45 pm until everything is completed. The work will be completed approximately at 12:00 am, but can be later.
What requirements must a chairman meet?
- You will have a car and a smartphone (mobile phone with internet) at your disposal during the elections
- You can lead, handle numbers well and make decisions.
In a short meeting you will receive an explanation about the elections.
Chairman 1
- Will be available on June 6 from approximately 6:00 am to 11:30 am and from 6:30 pm until finalized. The work will be completed approximately at 12:00 am, but can be later
- Receives training on the Vox counting method and explains this to the other polling station members.
- Is the counting leader when counting the votes.
Chairman 2
- Will be available on June 6 from approximately 11:30 am to 6:30 am and from 8:45 pm until finalized. The work will be completed approximately at 12:00 am, but can be later.
- Takes over the duties of the chairman in the absence of the chairman.

Application
You can register via the 2024 European Parliament Elections registration portal. It may be that there are already sufficient polling station chairmen, polling station members and counters at the time of registration. We will then save your registration. We will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.
