Pre-school education is offered by (certified) childcare organisations and is subsidised by the local authority. Childcare organisations that offer pre-school education can apply for a grant for this.

Who can apply for a grant?

Certified childcare providers working with an Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme.

For what activities?

The local authority can award an annual budget grant to childcare providers based on the number of pre-school spots filled.

Purpose of the activities

Early childhood education (VVE) is part of the policy on eliminating educational disadvantage. The goal of offering VVE is to better prepare toddlers with an educational disadvantage for grade school and to ensure that toddlers can go to year 3 without a disadvantage.
