Rules for visiting the Town Hall
We want your visits to be safe and pleasant for you, other visitors and our employees. That is why we have several house rules. Please comply with these rules. If you do not, we will ask you to leave the Town Hall or we will call the police. We will always report instances of threats, violence or damage.
What we expect from you
Access and identification
- Someone may ask to see your proof of identity.
- Some areas may only be accessible by appointment, such as consultation rooms.
- Guide dogs are welcome. Other animals are not permitted inside.
- If you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other substances that impact your judgement, we may refuse access.
Security
- Security cameras are in place to ensure your and our safety.
- Follow the instruction of emergency company responders, security staff and/or other employees.
- You are not permitted to carry objects that may present a threat to you or others.
- Hand in your helmet, skateboard, scooter and similar objects to security.
- Carrying clothing that covers your face (such as a full-face helmet or burka) is not permitted.
- Keep an eye on your belongings. The local authority accepts no responsibility in the event of loss or theft.
Behaviour
- Treat employees and other visitors respectfully.
- Take the privacy of other visitors into consideration.
- Treat confidential information with due care.
- Keep an eye on your children so everyone feels comfortable.
- You need permission to take pictures or record videos.
- Aggression, violence, intimidation or other inappropriate behaviour is not permitted.
- The use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco products in and around the building is not permitted.
- Do not remain on the premises longer than is necessary.
Use of facilities
- You can use the copy machine if this is necessary for our services.
- Coffee and tea are available free of charge.
- Wheelchairs are available. Please clean and properly return them after use.
Audio and video recordings
- The municipality of Leeuwarden allows audio recording. Unless there are important reasons not to allow this. In that case, another solution will be considered.
- You can make it clear that you want an audio recording before the interview. However, that is not necessary.
- If you make an audio recording, the City of Leeuwarden can also make an audio recording of the conversation for its own records.
- You must not edit the audio recording.
- Neither you nor the City of Leeuwarden will give or disclose audio or video recordings to other organisations or individuals without the other party’s consent.
- Does someone from the local authority want to make an audio recording of a conversation with you? This can only be done with your consent. You will then receive a copy of the audio recording.
- You may not film any employee of the City of Leeuwarden without permission.
