Grant for a sport or exercise initiative
Do you have an idea or an initiative to get more people to exercise? In that case, you can apply for a grant on behalf of a foundation, association or civil organisation. With the Leeuwarden Sportakkoord grant scheme, we want to get everyone, with or without a disability, to participate in sport or exercise and have fun doing so.
Are you unwilling or unable to apply online?
Download and complete the Sportakkoord grant (opens in new tab) application form. Send the form, including the annexes, to the City of Leeuwarden. You can also hand it in at the Town Hall.
Sportakkoord themes
Grant applications must fit within 1 of the themes of the Sportakkoord. These themes are important and are therefore set out in the Sport and Exercise Framework Policy (opens in new tab) and the Nationaal Sportakkoord. The themes are:
- Inclusion and diversity: ensuring that everyone can participate and that sport and exercise is accessible for everyone.
- Socially safe sports: working towards a safe and positive sports environment. What this means:
- a certificate of conduct for volunteers;
- a code of conduct for the association as a whole;
- a confidential advisor;
- well-trained trainers and coaches.
- Vital sports providers: helping associations and other providers with good management, organisation and volunteer policy.
- Skilled in exercise: encouraging good and versatile exercise among children and young people.
- Room for sport and exercise: improving an exercise-friendly environment and open sports parks.
Collaboration
An important condition for eligibility for a grant is that you must collaborate with other parties. This means multiple organisations must be involved. This can be a collaboration between different associations, or between an association and a district association or some other civil organisation. Together, we can reach more residents and more effectively share good ideas.
Contribution from the foundation or association
To be eligible for the grant, it is important that the foundation or association provides a contribution as well. This can take the form of money or time, such as deploying volunteers for a certain number of hours.
Bv SPORT is happy to help you think things through
The neighbourhood sports coaches of bv Sport would be happy to discuss an initiative with you. They will help you elaborate plans and establish connections with other associations, organisations or initiatives. This will make an idea stronger and provide a stronger basis for the application.
