Visit or flowers on special occasions
When its residents celebrate special occasions, the City of Leeuwarden is happy to congratulate them in person. Residents who celebrate their 100th birthday or 70th wedding anniversary can expect a visit from the mayor. From their 105th birthday or 75th wedding anniversary onward, they receive a message of congratulations each year. If a visit is either impossible or unwelcome, a bouquet of flowers and a card will be delivered.
