Newbuild plan ‘Wergea – Grut Palma West’ in Wergea
New homes are being built in Wergea by Harns Invest Development III B.V., on the west side of the village. The draft zoning plan was made available for inspection on 21 December 2023. After changes were made to it, the Municipal Executive presented the plan to the city council on 3 July 2025. On 9 July 2025, the council approved the plan. The environment and planning permit has since been granted, and sale of the homes will start soon.
Housing supply and availability
The plan includes a total of 58 owner-occupied houses, including both affordable and more expensive homes. The supply consists of detached houses, semi-detached houses, terraced and end-terraced houses and back-to-back homes. The possibility of lifetime homes has been taken into account. The area has plenty of water. Many detached and semi-detached houses are adjacent to waterways. All homes are being developed and sold by Harns Invest Ontwikkeling III B.V. The draft zoning plan and the draft visual quality plan were available for inspection from 21 December 2023 to 1 February 2024. Some parts of the plan have been amended based on the responses. The Municipal Executive presented the amended plan to the city council on 3 June 2025. The city council approved the plan on 9 July 2025. In October 2025, the zoning plan was finalised.

After the zoning plan was finalised, the environment and planning permit was applied for and granted. The developer has since gotten started with the input tax. The sale of homes will begin soon.
