White goods subsidy
Did you receive the energy allowance from the City of Leeuwarden earlier this year? And do you live in a poorly insulated home that results in high energy costs? If so, you may be entitled to a grant. We call this the ‘white goods grant’. With a voucher of up to €730.00 you can replace an old refrigerator, fridge-freezer, washing machine or dryer with a more energy-efficient appliance. An energy coach will also visit you. That way, you consume less energy and reduce your energy bills. €1,687,500 is available for this grant. Grants will be made as long as there is budget available.
Conditions
- You have an energy allowance from the municipality of Leeuwarden or a comparable energy allowance
- You live in a property with a low energy label: B, C, D, E, F or G. On www.energielabel.nl you can look up which label your house has.
- The old appliance is 10 years old or more. Or the old appliance has energy label B, C or D according to old energy labelling system. You trade in your old device.
- You can choose a table model refrigerator, table model freezer, higher refrigerator or fridge-freezer combination, washing machine or heat pump dryer.
- You can claim this grant once per address. Have you ever received white goods? Then you will not receive another device.
- If you apply for this subsidy, an Energy Coach will visit you to see what else you can save on in your home. This advice is free for you.
How to apply
- Make an appointment with the Energy Coach for a consultation. This can be done in 3 ways:
- Using the online application form at Energieloket Leeuwarden.
- Contact the City of Leeuwarden.
- Send your application and contact details to energiecoach@leeuwarden.nl.
- The Energy Coach will visit your home to check whether you meet the conditions. If so, they will go through the application with you. The Energy Coach will then give you a voucher.
- With the voucher you can choose an economical refrigerator in the store worth € 730.00. You save the most energy with a refrigerator with an A label. It may only be an energy-efficient appliance with a minimum energy label D. For a higher refrigerator, the energy label may also be E.
- Do you want a more expensive device? If so, you will have to pay the difference in price yourself at the shop.
- Hand in the voucher and arrange delivery at the shop.
- The delivery service delivers the new device and immediately takes the old device away. The delivery costs of € 20.00 are free for you.
- A number of devices have been funded by the European Union – Interreg. That is why these devices have an EU sticker.
