Maintenance of Saint Joseph Bridge

According to the provisional planning, the work will start in September. This is expected to take at least four months. Insofar as possible, the work will be carried out from the water.

While the work is ongoing, the bridge will be closed for cyclists and pedestrians. Traffic on the water will at times also be unable to cross underneath the bridge. The exact times will be coordinated with the waterway users.

The new bridge will rest on foundation piles inserted without creating vibrations. This will prevent damage to nearby buildings.

The work will be carried out by De Boer & De Groot Civiele Werken from Harlingen. The contract has already been awarded.
