Learning from the Past grant
Integral Child Centres (IKCs), primary and secondary schools in Leeuwarden can apply until 31 July 2026 for a grant for extra teaching materials, the engagement of a guest speaker or another form of educational engagement around the 80th anniversary of the liberation. Grants will be provided as long as there is budget available. A sum of €10,000 has been made available.

What is the grant intended for?
The grant is for activities at schools so that children and young people engage in conversation about:
- The history of World War II;
- The meaning of freedom and lack of freedom at school, in the classroom and at home;
- justice, democracy and freedom;
- Traditions of remembrance and celebration.
Grant amount
You can apply for a maximum of €500 per school.
What should you include in the application?
You must give a clear description of the activity. You must also provide financial accountability.
