Renewing a parking permit 2026
You can renew your parking permit or parking exemption from 28 November 2025 to 31 December 2025. What if the permit or exemption is not paid for by 31 December 2025? In that case, it will not be renewed and the permit or exemption will be discontinued.
Have you issued a direct debit authorisation?
Have you authorised the City of Leeuwarden to automatically debit the cost of renewing your parking permit from your bank account? You do not need to take any action. Around 27 January 2026, we will debit the fee from your bank account and your parking permit will be renewed automatically.

- Log in with your DigiD
- Click on the “Renew” button
- Pay with IDEAL
Login if you have a business
- Click on blue bar “Digitally renew your permit or exemption in person.”
- Click on the tab “Bedrijven”
- Click on the “Renew” button
- Log in with your e-herkenning
Message box (‘Berichtenbox’) or letter received
Have you signed up for MijnOverheid’s message box? If so, you will receive a notice in your digital mailbox. Have you not signed up for the message box? In that case, you will have received a letter.
Didn’t receive a letter?
Have you not received a letter by 5 December 2025? Contact the Permits and Environment Department at parkeren@leeuwarden.nl or call 14 058.
