Quick to:

Plan involving all stakeholders

The discussion on the future of the skate park and its use led to the question “What is needed to make and keep the neighbourhood park a pleasant place for all?”

The New Route approach was used to find solutions supported by all. A planning day was held to develop a plan that suits the needs of the neighbourhood’s residents.

Planning Day

On Saturday 12 April 2025, Camminghaburen residents met to decide how the neighbourhood park can be and remain a pleasant place for all.
During the planning day, all the stakeholders entered into a dialogue. They were able to take decisions within the rules set by the local authority. The plans for the neighbourhood park, such as a greener and more accessible space, have been received by the local authority. These plans will be further developed with stakeholders in the coming period.

Plandag decisions and requests

Plandag decisions and requests:

  • A greener and more accessible area: The park will be made greener. There will be new seating areas and a natural playground for children. The Tiny Forest will remain and more greenery, such as shrubs and flowers, will be added to make the park even more natural.
  • Youth area: The Jopla (youth meeting place) is being taken away, but we are working with young people to find a new alternative for youngsters aged 14 and above.
  • No skate track in the park: There will be no skate track in the district park. Many people supported this good decision, but some residents see it as a loss. A working group of local residents, the neighbourhood panel and the local authority are now looking for another location in or close to Camminghaburen.
  • Input from primary school children: Primary school children took part in the process. They put forward some good ideas on playground equipment and a safe place to play, making the park suitable for all ages.

How further?

What happens next?

  • Assessment of the plans: The local authority is looking at whether the plans fit within the rules, such as the available budget of 25,000 euros.
  • Working groups and follow-up steps: During the planning day, many residents signed up to help with the plans. They will further develop the plans together with the new neighbourhood panel and the local authority.
  • Follow-up communication: The local authority will inform the participants of the April planning day about the next steps and how the decisions will be implemented.

What form will the follow-up take?

  • Future developments: The local authority will work with the working group to redesign the park. Cycle lanes and lighting will also be replaced in the coming years.
